What if a hotel stay could be like borrowing the beautiful house of a charming, rich uncle? Someone who has lived life to the fullest, traveled the world and adorned his home with a collection of art and antiqueties, a result of an aventurious life. Staying at Huxley House is stepping into a world where luxury, taste and a touch of mystery meet in the quiet intimacy of a private home. A peaceful getaway where old-world hospitality seamlessly blends with modern comfort and service. The first Huxley House is located between Amsterdam’s beautiful Vondelpark and the well known Leidseplein/canal district, within easy walking distance to all the major attractions in the city.

How it works

Your rich uncle's house.
He's just not home.

There's no traditional front desk. When you arrive, you'll be greeted by a team of live butlers via Huxley's innovative technology, who'll show you around, answer your questions, and then leave you to it. 
After that, the house is yours.

The idea is simple: the feeling of residing in your rich uncle's house while he's away. Everything is stocked, everything works, and nobody is watching. Help yourself to the library. Make a cup of tea. Stay in your pyjamas until the end of the morning. We won't know, and frankly, we don't mind.

My housekeeper has five room types for you, each with a possibility to hold one or two guests and equistelatively maintained to the highest standard.

Each room tells a different story. No two rooms are the same, but they all have soul. Warm woods, worn leather, aged brass, persian rugs.

Most guests arrive with a list. We gently replace it with a better one. Unlce Huxley has a cultural guide and has spent years mapping the Amsterdam that doesn't make it into travel magazines — the galleries, the Tuesday markets, the canal-side café where the city's architects eat lunch.

Before you arrive, we send a city briefing tailored to your stay — neighbourhood by neighbourhood, season by season. While you're here, the guide is available for private walks, specialist visits, and introductions to people worth knowing.
